I must confess I'm glad to see it go...

School is always the weirdest time trap.
I always feel like the second I step foot over here I have no frame of reference for anything.
So hey everyone! It's October and I have no idea how that happened.
Midterms are finally over, but I still somehow have a huge exam this week. And another the beginning of next.
it's like secondsies on midterms.

As far as exciting things going on...
I went to Waimea about a week ago with a couple roommates and a friend with her kids...
and we were just lying on the beach when everyone saw a grip load of dolphins in the water
I don't know what possessed me at that moment, but in about 2 seconds flat we all decided to try and swim out to them and the next thing I know I was sprinting into the water then swimming as fast as I could out to them.
I've gotten pretty far out into the ocean before...But I'm pretty sure the buoy at Hukilau is the farthest I've ever been until I decided to try and swim with dolphins.
It was so incredibly outrageous being that far into the open ocean on top of the fact that we were pretty much surrounded by over 20 spinner dolphins.
It was just an experience from a movie. And if I was ever given the chance again I'd do it...just with goggles.
Not being able to see anything underwater was slightly terrifying when I could see shapes moving underneath me (knowing they were dolphins) but still...
Not so comforting. I had Monica doing safety checks about every 30 seconds just to make sure no sharks were coming to rumble with the dolphins.
So we stayed out there for about 45 minutes. and I was really tired after treading for that long and swimming that far.
We did pretty well. and it was seriously amazing...just hard to explain through text.
Ah the best part that was so freaky to me was being able to hear them even when you were above the water...because their crazy echolocation was just such an eerie thing because it just completely fills your eardrums in the strangest way and you can never tell where it's coming from. It was so cool.

Another exciting thing that happened occurred across vast distances...
Landon got to see Copeland perform an acoustic set at Park Ave CD's (completely jealous I know.) and he got to chat with Aaron Marsh afterwards and so as loving and wonderful as he is he called me so I could get to say hi too.
Aaron was kind enough to talk to me for a minute and it pretty much enhanced my entire life about 9%
Which is a lot for one phone call...
So that was wonderful.

and on Saturday night I thought I broke my ankle.
So that was cool.
Turns out it's not broken at all, but it is sprained and bruised and swollen and Al was kind enough to find me a pair of crutches to walk around on at school today.
I know...I'm that cool.

But I'd say that is just about the biggest things going on right about now.
I am SO excited for Halloween.
I am going to be Sarah Palin.
Which is super original, right?
hahah, but then again I'm also thinking about dressing up as Darla from Finding Nemo for another Halloween festivity.
I haven't decided yet.

I have biology now.
hooray for Ribonucleic Acids!

Waimea madness.

Aaron and I chatting like usual.

I was born a Darla.

love.
